    Yuganiki Okkadu
    Telugu Cinema Site Rating :
"Yuganiki Okkadu"is a dubbed adaptation from Tamil movie “Ayarathil Oruvan”. But frankly speaking this movie is a must watch movie, due to its screenplay and story filming the actors ad actress in this movie are apt for their characters and director Selva raghavan has come up with a good movie this time. but this movie is not for family audiences on a single note, due to his high action and glamour scenes.
    Story:

This movie begins with the performances of a street play where the folk art of the Chola kings is depicted. Then the frame is taken to the 1279AD in which the Chola Dynasty existed. The film shows us how the Pandyas are driven out of their kingdoms in the southern India.

In order to escape from the clutches of death, the chola king sends his successor or his son to a unknown and isolated place in order to save his life from enemies. Only few ardent men accompany the prince and a idol which is sacred to Pandyas is also taken along by the Cholas. To get back the idol, the Cholas launch a search for the prince with the sacred idol, but the search goes in vein.

After many centuries, the film is brought back into the present world. In the year 2009, Indian archeologists are sent to search for the lost clues of Cholas and Pandyas. But the archeological team which ventures out into the search, disappears and this also takes away the head of the team, which is a character played by ChandraMouli (Prathap Pothan).

In order to find Chandramouli and his team, the Indian government appoints Anitha (Reema) and Indian army major Ravi (Azhagam Perumal). They are also given the help pf Lavanya (Andrea) ho is the daughter of the lost archeologist Chandramouli.

Anitha then employs a group of porters teams, which is led by Muthu(Karthi) and they help the archeological team to transport their baggage. They start on a voyage to Vietnam and experience different situations in their journey. They are stalked by Cannibals, sea creatures, warriors, snakes, hunger, quick sand and a silent village.

Many men and porters are killed in this journey and Muthu, Anitha and Lavanya get separated. They go mad while reaching the hideout of the chola dynasty due to black magic.

Soon, the chola King is discovered along withy his men in his hiding by Muthu and Anitha. But the chola king orders the trio of Muthu, Anitha and Lavanya to be burnt alive in order to please the gods.
Anitha then fakes her identity and plays a trick and the rest of the story is a must watch on the silver screen.
    Performances:

Reemma Sen and Karthi steal the sow with their acting and dialogue delivery. Karthi’s crude language is an highlight in this movie. Reemma Sen and Andrea are seen in some revealing clothes and the director has successfully used their body in this film, to full extent.

The rest of the characters need no narration, as they justify their roles.

The music of “Yuaganiki Okkadu” is apt to the storyline and has been composed by GV Prakash. The background music of this film is also excellently scored and suits the mood of the storyline.

The director by Selvaraghavan is excellent and the intense subject with all elements of entertainment, make this movie a true delight to watch.

‘Yuganiki Okkadu’ has been made on a budget of Rs 33 crores and the budget matches the outcome of this movie.
On the whole, ‘Yuganiki Okkadu” is a must watch movie for youngsters and fun lovers.
